In Year Application
If your child would like a place at The John Smeaton Academy because you have moved to within the catchment area or your child is at a local high school and you wish to change schools, you will need to put your application in writing via the ICPF (In-Year Common Preference Form).  You can pick up a paper copy from the academy or download a copy from the link below.

When the form is completed please return to:

If places are available we will offer you a guided tour of the academy and discuss in detail the admission of your child.
However, if the year group has no vacancies your application may go to appeal in accordance with the Governance Services Section of Leeds City Council who administers the appeals on behalf of the academy.
Appeals against a decision will be heard within 30 days of the appeal being received by the clerk.
You must ensure any additional evidence you wish to submit in support of your appeal is sent to:

at least 4 working days before your appeal.

Following the hearing, decision letters will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing.
