Good News Story: Macbeth

Yesterday, 110 Year 11 Pupils visited the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds to watch a live performance of Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy, Macbeth.
After the prolonged closure of theatres as a result of the global pandemic, we were absolutely delighted to be able to secure a booking of a theatre performance of the students’ set GCSE Literature text, Macbeth. The cost of the trip was fully subsidised by the academy as we fully appreciate the immense educational value such an experience can provide to our students.
Our students had front row seats of the performance. It was captivating from start to end and had our year 11 cohort on the edge of their seats throughout the production. We are looking forward to discussing the performance further with our young people during their upcoming English Literature lessons.
